Make ChatGPT your own employee, not just a tool for answering questions
With the increasing use of AI, the way it is used is also changing day by day. Now, a new method has been released that can be used as an AI consultant to understand your life and work, rather than a tool for answering questions. This technique was introduced by Stanford University professor Jeremy Utley.
According to the ‘Stanford Prompt Method’ proposed by Utley, the user should not only give direct commands to ChatGPT, but should start a dialogue by letting the AI ask questions itself. For example, when giving a prompt like ‘You are my personal advisor. To understand me better, first ask me a question.’ ChatGPT asks about the user’s goals, challenges, and priorities. After this, the dialogue becomes deeper and more personal as it provides advice based on the answers received.
This method is different from the simple question-and-answer system. Often, users ask ChatGPT “How to write?” or “What ideas do you have?” But in the Stanford Prompt Method, like a professional consultant, AI collects information by asking questions to the user. Based on the information obtained in this way, AI gives action plans and suggestions.
Although not officially confirmed, the experience of using AI as your personal consultant by adopting this method presented by the Stanford professor can be found online.
This method can also be useful for Nepali users. Business, studies, and startups are moving forward rapidly in Nepal. But experienced consultants or advisors may not be affordable for everyone. In such a situation, using an AI consultant can help students develop study strategies, business people develop marketing strategies, or individual users develop general plans.
But recently, with incidents such as not maintaining confidentiality when sharing personal information with AI and leaking conversations, it seems challenging to give your personal information to AI with confidence. For this reason, it seems appropriate to use AI only after considering how much information to give when using it as a consultant.
