Kathmandu Metropolitan City seeks scientific and technological solutions for managing biodegradable waste Kathmandu Metropolitan City has sought suggestions from concerned individuals, organizations and companies to recommend appropriate methods for the scientific and technological management of biodegradable waste generated within its area. The Metropolitan City's Department of Environmental Management issued a notice on Sunday, calling for submission of such suggestions within 15 days. Through the annual policy and program for the fiscal year 082/083, the Metropolitan City has set the goal of waste classification at source , waste to energy and zero waste city . In line with this goal, the Metropolitan City aims to use biodegradable waste as a resource to protect the environment, reduce the burden of waste disposed of in landfill sites and contribute to a circular economy .
