What to do to keep our intestines clean and healthy?

The intestine is part of the digestive system of the human body and is responsible for digesting food, absorbing nutrients and increasing immunity.

The small intestine is about 6-7 meters long and is divided into the duodenum, jejunum and ileum, which absorb nutrients.

The large intestine is about 1.5 meters long and absorbs water, electrolytes and removes waste products from the body.

The intestine is a very important part of the human body in terms of health. It is part of the body's digestive system. It plays an important role in digesting food, absorbing nutrients, and increasing the body's resistance to disease. The intestine is divided into two parts - the small intestine and the large intestine.

The small intestine is primarily responsible for digesting food and absorbing nutrients, while the large intestine is responsible for absorbing water and minerals and removing waste products from the body.

The small intestine and its function

The small intestine is about 6-7 meters long and consists of three parts – duodenum, jejunum and ileum. The duodenum helps in digestion by mixing the food and digestive juices from the stomach. It breaks down carbohydrates, proteins and fats with the help of digestive enzymes. Jejunum and ileum absorb nutrients from digested food. From here, nutrients needed by the body, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fats, enter the blood.

Large intestine and its function

The large intestine is about 1.5 meters long. It mainly absorbs water, electrolytes and minerals. Here the waste material (fas) accumulates and is sent out of the body. The bacteria in the large intestine are also important for health. These 'good bacteria' control harmful bacteria, balance the digestive system and strengthen the immune system.

Importance of intestines

A healthy gut is not just about digesting food, it is also linked to mental health and immunity. Scientific research has also shown that the bacteria in the gut communicate with our brain through the 'gut-brain axis'. Therefore, stress, anxiety and other mental problems can appear when the intestines are unhealthy.

A sign that the gut is healthy

- Better digestion, less stomach indigestion, belching or gas problems

- Better immunity

- Stabilizing the body's energy levels

A remedy to cleanse and strengthen the bowels

1. Eating a balanced diet

Fruits, vegetables, pulses, fresh grains, nuts and fiber-rich foods play an important role in strengthening the intestines. Fiber helps in proper digestion of food and flushes out the waste material accumulated in the intestines.

2. Drink enough water

Water is essential for all body functions. Drinking enough water is essential to keep the bowels clean.

3. Eating probiotics and fermented foods

Fermented foods like yogurt, pickles, soy products promote good bacteria.

4. Regular exercise

Regular walking, yoga or light exercise will ease the digestive process and keep the bowels active.

5. Reduce stress

Mental stress affects the digestive process. Meditation, pranayama and deep breathing are helpful in reducing stress.

6. Eat less sugar and processed foods

Too much sugar and processed foods can increase harmful bacteria and make the gut unhealthy.

7. Do not smoke and drink alcohol

Smoking and alcohol have a negative effect on gut health.

8. Eating at the right time

Excessive late night eating or irregular eating habits affect the digestive system.

What does a 'food inspector' do?

What does a 'food inspector' do?  Those who studied food technology, who like the food of different restaurants? I would like to make a proposal regarding the hiring of this type of food inspector contract.

Talking openly about mental health issues is on the rise

Talking openly about mental health issues is on the rise It took time to admit that I had a mental health problem. Arpana Thapa of Satdobato narrated her experience. Arpana, who works in a private company, is yet to be identified as to why mental health problems started. Arpana, who came to the hospital after having headaches, stomach aches, fatigue, and diarrhea, was recommended to see a psychiatrist after all the tests. At that time she could not accept it herself. After the doctor consulted for a while, she was ready to undergo a mental examination. After the examination, the doctor prescribed medicine according to the advice that he would recover after taking normal medicine. As per the doctor's advice, she started taking medicine.
