‘Homework’ for children, not parents, tuition in the nursery

‘Homework’ for children, not parents, tuition in the nursery

Since pre-nursery children have to go to school at 8 am, parents have to pick them up at 6 am.

Today's schools give homework to parents.

The school has to buy books, stationery and dresses from the school and these expenses are listed separately from the fees.

In the past, parents used to feel safe by enrolling their children in the nearest school. Their only responsibility was to get their homework done. However, with time, the concept of school and children's education has changed. Now, even in pre-nursery, the school keeps parents busy along with the children. There is so much pressure on young children to study that parents have to pay for tuition for them.

Morning school

When children are very young, especially in the nursery level, their school starts at 8 am. Opening school at 8 am is a big challenge for children and parents. It takes at least 2 hours to wake up in the morning, get ready and convince them to go to school. In such a situation, children should be picked up at 6 am for 8 am school. School for young children should be at least after 10 am.

Homework

Current schools do not give homework or home assignments to children, but to parents. Sometimes they are asking them to bring different fruits in the name of fruit lunch. Sometimes in a color theme, sometimes in shape, paper cutting, coloring, Dashain decoration items, fancy dresses, many printouts and so on. Parents are busy with the school work given to their children, while children do not care much about these things.

Online classes

Schools also have summer and winter vacations, as well as holidays for various festivals. In some cases, online classes continue even after the school is closed. How justified is it to keep children studying in pre-nursery in front of the screen continuously? On the one hand, we say that screen time should be reduced, on the other hand, we keep them in front of phones and laptops for 2 hours in the morning, calling them online classes.

Not only that, parents should also be equally busy with their children in these online classes. Because young children do not sit in one place for long. The teacher's instructions are also more for the parents than the children.

Tuition in pre-nursery

There is so much pressure on pre-nursery that parents have to pay tuition at home. Tuition to teach ABCD and Kakhgagh. When parents try to teach, children are interested in playing instead of reading, and forgetting about other things. In such a situation, parents are forced to pay tuition. On the other hand, at this level too, seeing the increasing competition among children, parents have to pay tuition.

School expenses

Admission fees, monthly fees, examination fees, books, pens, etc. Moreover, schools are coming up with many topics to collect money from parents.

Along with this, various items have to be purchased as project work. There are many things that have to be sent in festive clothes. Apart from these, there are many expenses that keep coming up without knowledge.

Stationery and clothes also at school

Earlier, parents used to have a specific shop from where they used to buy children's books and stationery. Younger siblings used to read those books over and over again. But now, books have to be bought at school because the school does not accept those bought from outside. The price of these books is also very expensive. Even the school keeps these books itself and puts 1 or 2 books in the children's bags according to homework. The situation is similar with school uniforms and their prices.

Not only books and school uniforms, but even a pencil has to be bought at school. These expenses come in a separate list from the fees. This includes pencils, sharpeners, erasers, crayons, craft materials, etc. Interestingly, the school does not show these items after they are purchased. If asked to show them, the answer is, 'They will be given to children in all classes.' However, when it comes to homework, these same items, such as crayons, pencils, etc., have to be bought and kept at home.
