A patient who has gone into a coma can also come back

Many people think that comatose patients usually do not come back. That is why people who are in coma are called 'living corpse'. Because of this, many of their loved ones have lost hope of coming back after falling into a coma.

A person in a coma cannot react to events and activities around them, as well as changes and problems. Many of us think that coma is a condition with no treatment option. If so, can a person really come back from a coma?

What is a coma?

The state in which the body cannot meet internal and external needs is called coma. Coma is when the brain becomes unconscious and stays unconscious for a long time. When someone falls into a coma, he is not aware of what is happening around him. People are alive. But it looks like he is in a deep sleep. But the breathing of a person in a coma is slow. Rare activity can also be seen in the brain. Apart from the brain, other organs of the body such as kidneys, liver, lungs, heart etc. are working.

the reason

There are various causes of coma. One of which is traumatic brain injury. A road accident or a violent incident can cause a brain injury. Apart from this, this condition can also occur due to deep injury in the brain. In such a situation, the veins inside the brain burst and blood starts flowing. Sometimes the head can burst and enter the brain cells.

Similarly, due to brain tumor, diabetes, lack of oxygen in the body for some reason, lack of oxygen in people who have had a heart attack, infections such as encephalitis and meningitis, the tissues around the brain and spinal cord swell. In severe cases of these infections, brain damage or coma can occur. As if toxic substances accumulate in the body, carbon dioxide becomes high and mixes with the blood, which can lead to stroke and coma. A person falls into a coma due to many conditions such as alcohol and drug overdose.

This is how commas are placed

As the functioning system of the person who is in coma cannot work, the necessary elements are given with the help of artificial machine and the treatment starts under the close supervision of the doctor. Oxygen cylinders, nutrition pipes, ventilators, etc. are provided.

Identification and treatment

ABC (respiration, breath and its communication) of the affected person is understood to determine whether he has reached a coma or not. After that, the cause of the coma is found out by looking at the heart, liver, and vital organs through CT scan and MRI.

Treatment is done based on the coma after recovery. First it helps to maintain breathing and blood circulation. Then they can give intravenous drugs and other necessary aids to help breathing. If the brain is swollen, a procedure or medicine may be needed to reduce the pressure on the brain. Glucose or antibiotics are given through a vein in the arm. These drugs are given before blood test results are available in cases of very low sugar levels or infections affecting the brain.

If the coma is the result of a drug overdose, drugs are usually given to treat the condition. If the coma is caused by a heart attack, medication can control it. Other treatments may focus on specific medications or treatments for diseases such as diabetes or liver disease.

Can a person in a coma come back?

There is no such system in medical science so far, which can tell when a patient will come out of coma. The likelihood of coming out of the coma depends on the cause of the coma. If the disease can be resolved, the person can often return to their normal functioning level. If the brain is seriously damaged, it may even reach a state where it is impossible to come back from a coma. The recovery rate is high for people who are comatose due to head injuries. Signs of coming back from coma can be detected by their behavior.

4 conditions that can lead to coming out of coma

Although it is difficult to say how long it will take the patient to come out of the coma, some things also indicate that he is improving.

Step 1: Not responding

When there is no response, it is understood that the person is in a complete coma. But at this time it can be seen that there is a reaction and irregular movement without any specific reason.

Step Two: Initial Response

At this stage the patient begins to respond. But responses can be low, irregular and slow. In some initial reactions, they start doing activities like making sounds, touching, moving their hands, opening and closing their eyes.

Third stage: constant agitation and confusion

At this stage, a comatose person may respond continuously. He does not know where he is and what is happening. But they can do anger, quick outpouring and gnawing of the beard.

4th stage: reaction high

At this stage the patient may be able to complete routine tasks without difficulty. However, they may still have difficulty with problem solving, judgment and decision making. They may not be fully aware of their limitations at this stage. Relatives may also see some unusual changes in personality at this stage.

The healing process is different for everyone and some patients may stay in one stage longer than another.

What does a 'food inspector' do?

What does a 'food inspector' do?  Those who studied food technology, who like the food of different restaurants? They check the quality of what kind of meat the meat shop is selling, whether the vegetables of the vegetable shop are pesticide-free. I would like to make a proposal regarding the hiring of this type of food inspector contract.

What does quantum physics tell us about reality? | Why is quantum physics so hard?

What does quantum physics tell us about reality? Quantum physics provides us with a new understanding of reality that is different from our classical understanding. In classical physics, things have definite properties, like position and velocity, and the physical world is objective and exists independently of our observations.

Sophistication of Metaverse Avatars The term "metaverse" refers to a collective virtual shared space, typically containing many individual virtual worlds. Within the metaverse, users can interact with each other and with digital content through the use of avatars, which are virtual representations of the user's identity. The sophistication of these avatars can vary depending on the capabilities of the platform and the level of detail and customization that is possible.
